The Lewis Family
The Lewis’ and I had the best time laughing and basking in the beautiful sunset and fall trees during this dreamy maternity shoot. We have had this portrait session planned for a very long time. We were patiently waiting for God’s plan to unfold. Elyse and I shared moments of vulnerability and raw honesty throughout the past few years. I have enjoyed fostering our friendship and the short moments of time we have spent together over the past few years. But, my favorite moment came only a bit ago. Elyse pulled me aside at a meeting. She looked at me with excitement and love in her eyes. I had a feeling I knew what she was going to say. My heart was pounding. She looked up at me. Tears welled in her eyes. And she smiled with her eyes and said she was ready for the shoot. It was finally here! Patrick and Elyse are nineteen weeks pregnant and their hearts are bursting with joy! You can see it in their physical touches, eyes, and loving smiles at one another.
My absolute favorite part of photographing pregnant mothers are the memories. The memories come flooding back to me. Although I was pregnant almost ten years ago (WOW! Time slow down please) I still remember every single emotional feeling. We prayed and waited so long for the gift of our son. I find joy in reliving those feelings with the future mother-to-be all over again. Motherhood is a gift. I love capturing some of the most important memories for the mother.
Patrick and Elyse, I wish many blessings on your future bundle of joy! Patrick, you will be a wonderful father. You and your son will take great care of Elyse. Your love will grow for Elyse. You will show your son how to love a mother and a wife. You will be an amazing role model for your son. Elyse, enjoy every single moment. It is the most rewarding job in the world, and you will be amazing. You have such a beautiful soul. Thank you both for allowing me to capture these forever precious memories.
