Every time I get to photograph the Miller family, I enjoy catching up with old friends. I’ve had the honor of capturing their milestones for years, and each session reminds me just how special it is to watch families grow and change through the lens.
This year’s session was set in a glowing field of sunflowers, a backdrop as bright and joyful as the Millers themselves. Tinley, now 11 and heading into sixth grade, has grown into such a confident, vibrant young lady. Between showing her lambs, playing tennis, and running cross country, she’s always on the go, but she still brings that sweet, down-to-earth spirit that makes her so fun to photograph.
Of course, their four-legged family member, Dasha, made her appearance too. With her perky ears and spunky personality, she stole the spotlight more than once! Watching Tinley laugh and play with Dasha in the tall flowers was the kind of candid, heartwarming moment that makes family sessions feel timeless.
What I love most about photographing the Millers is the genuine joy they bring. They don’t just show up for pictures, they show up as themselves, fully present, full of love, and always ready to laugh. The sunflower field captured their warmth perfectly: golden light, easy smiles, and a whole lot of love shining through.
It’s sessions like this that remind me why I adore family photography. It’s not just about the pictures, it’s about the story behind them. For the Millers, that story is one of growth, tradition, love, and a pup who keeps everyone smiling.
