There is something incredibly special about witnessing someone step fully into their purpose. That is exactly how I felt photographing Miranda Guzman. Her light, her joy, and her passion for what is ahead were clear in every frame.
Miranda is 33 years old and about to graduate from the University of Texas Permian Basin with a bachelor’s degree in education. After years of dedication, reflection, and courage, she is closing one chapter and stepping into another, but this time as a future teacher.
Before pursuing education, Miranda worked in the field of nursing. While that work was meaningful, she could not shake the feeling that something was missing. Everything changed when she found herself surrounded by strong, passionate women in education. Their love for teaching lit a spark in her, and it was through their influence that Miranda discovered her own calling. Since then, she has never looked back.
It is not easy to change careers. It takes vision, strength, and an open heart, all of which Miranda carries in abundance. Her story is one of hope and purpose, and I have no doubt she will be the kind of teacher who changes lives in the most lasting ways.
Miranda, I am so incredibly proud of you! Watching you step into this moment was a privilege, and I know the classroom is about to gain someone truly remarkable. You are exactly what education needs!
