As a photographer, I have the unique opportunity to witness and document life’s most cherished moments. Recently, I had the absolute joy of capturing a milestone for Rhett and Baylee Jones that is particularly close to my heart: their baby announcement. Having photographed their wedding portraits, being part of this next chapter in their journey felt incredibly special.
It all started on Tuesday, August 13th—the day before school began. Baylee had a feeling, an instinct that something wonderful was about to unfold. After returning home from work, she decided to take a pregnancy test. As any excited parent-to-be would, she ended up taking six! The results came back positive almost instantly!
I can only imagine the whirlwind of emotions that surged through her as she dashed to the guest bedroom closet, retrieving the adorable onesie and stuffed animal she had secretly bought for their future baby. Setting it all on the kitchen table alongside those positive tests, she was ready to share this life-changing news with Rhett.
Baylee set up her GoPro to capture Rhett’s reaction. As he walked in from practice, he was greeted by a scene filled with love and anticipation. The moment he laid eyes on Baylee holding the tests, tears filled his eyes—a raw, beautiful reaction that spoke volumes about his excitement and love for their growing family.
After the initial emotional reveal, the couple headed out for a celebratory dinner, and Baylee couldn’t help but make Rhett stop at Walmart for more tests—They grabbed a digital test, and the following morning, on the first day of school, she took two more just to be sure. The excitement was contagious!
Their due date is set for late April 2025, with hopes for a May baby. Baylee can already envision the beautiful family they will become, especially with Rhett’s own hefty birth weight—almost 10 pounds! With that in mind, she is convinced this little one is going to be big!
As a photographer, I thrive on capturing these significant moments—the milestones that shape a family’s story. Being able to document Rhett and Baylee’s journey from newlyweds to expectant parents feels like a full-circle moment for me. The love they share is contagious, and I can’t wait to see how it grows as they welcome this new life.
